 وَلَا تَكْسِبُ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ إِلَّا عَلَيْهَا ۚ وَلَا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٌ وِزْرَ أُخْرَىٰ #

(Surah Al-An’am, 6:164)

wa laa taksibu kullu nafsin illaa ‘alaihaa; wa laa taziru waaziratunw wizra ukhraa. #

Translation: No person earns any (sin) except against himself (only), and no bearer of burdens shall bear the burden of another.  #

The word “wizr” in the given verse means burden or responsibility, specifically referring to the burden of sin or the responsibility of one’s actions.

To implement this verse in one’s life with its understanding, a person can:

  1. Take personal responsibility for their actions and choices: This means recognizing that every action has consequences and being accountable for them. Instead of blaming others for their mistakes or expecting others to bear the burden of their actions, one should take ownership of their choices and work towards making amends if necessary.
  2. Strive for personal growth and improvement: Since every individual is responsible for their own actions, it is important to strive for personal growth and improvement. This includes being mindful of one’s actions, making ethical choices, and working towards becoming a better person. By doing so, one can attain success in this life and in the Hereafter by being accountable for their own actions and working towards becoming a better person.
